I am taking a big risk by posting this today. My 8 year old daughter performed the song "This is Me" from Camp Rock at her school talent show last night. She thinks she stunk up the joint. I'd say she did awesome. I couldn't be prouder that she got up in front of several hundred people and sang her heart out.
(They only had two minutes to perform so they had to cut the song off in the middle of it.)

I think she was GREAT!
Loved it.
What a treat to see & listen to this! So small, yet mighty is she! Easy to see why you're so proud!! :-)
Look out Simon - this girl's got it!!!!
She's got a great voice and no doubt will be using this gift wherever she can! It sure takes a lot of courage to stand before a crowd and sing your heart out! Excellent!
I am in tears! A stage mom from across the country!!!
You should be so proud of her and she has an amazing voice!!!!
I know you heart is just about to burst. That was terrific.
♥

I am close to in tears. Your daughter is so sweet and so brave to be up there singing in front of all of those people. My daughter is 8 as well and is in a drama class whihc is doing high school musical. It truly brought tears to my eyes as I could just see my daughter up there just like yours. What a proud Mommy moment.
She's so adorable! Thanks for sharing. I'll be looking for her on American Idol in a few years =)
I taught in elementary school for 11 years before staying home with my kids. I have seen many talent shows and sat through some painful numbers. All that to say...she was great! Keep on singing girl.
Adorable! She's WAY more brave than me. Good for her!
That takes a ton of courage! And she did great!
Oh so sweet! Listen to the audience getting into it, too.
She was fabulous!!! What a brave 8 year old to go in front of the school like that - kuddos to her!
She was fantastic! She even had the crowd with her! Great job!
okay, how adorable is she?!?!?!? That was fun to watch... Eli watched it with me and asked to watch it again.
Thanks for sharing...
How precious! I love how the audience joined in clapping!
It sounds like at the end you were saying, "I'm shaking, I'm shakin," which is so funny, because I was going to ask you...were you shaking, did you feel sick to your stomach? I always get that way whenever my children perform for an audience.
What sweet memories you have made...the school talent show!
Wow! She was fantastic!
It takes such courage to perform in front of such a large audience.
American Idol 2017! Way to go!
She sounded great and looked so cute up there. My daughter started singing along with her (I think they are the same age). How brave of her to get up there and perform in front of all those people.
You tell her SHE ROCKED!!!!
And that she is very brave.
She was amazing! I could have never done that at her age. Then again, I could never do that at my current age! She really is a talented girl and I know how proud you must be!
Thanks for sharing with us all!
She did a great job! What a talented young lady.
Debbie, she did a GREAT job! Not only did she sing great, but her timing was on, and she knew all the words! You tell her she did NOT stink up the place. She did AWESOME! She and my Kiddo could SO do a duet!
BTW, Was that you saying you were shaking? I thought "Oh, that's Debbie talking! We get to hear her voice!" : )
You had every right to be proud! She did awesome!!!
She did GREAT!! The fact that she could sing on beat with all of the off beat clappers is amazing!! :) My hubby is a drummer and off beat clappers make him cringe. She should be so proud of herself!!
Wowzers...little Red riding hood is going to be famous! That's a big voice for a little girl. Does she take singing lessons or is that just natural talent? Amazing!
Did you cry? I would have! She was fabulous! :)
Oh, that was so great! I had no idea she could sing like that...too bad our church doesn't have a kids choir! Maybe you should sign her up for a solo in Conversations this year! Way to go little lady!
She is fabulous not only for her singing skills but getting up in front of all those people. There are very few people in this world that could handle that!
I wish I had self confidence like that...for now my kids listen (sort of) to me belting out the tunes in the car.
joshua says, "GREAT SINGING, Lindsey!"
rebekah says, "your singing was GREAT!"
Lindsey - you should be very proud of yourself! you did a great job. i love how everyone started clapping with you! you really got them "into it!"
Loved this! She was great!!
She was awesome!! But she must be older than 8. Holy cow! Great voice!!! There is no way she 'stunk up the joint'. Haha! Hope she is feeling better.
debbie, Id love for you to have access to my blog since I have recently set it to private. Just shoot me an email to iluvmynonna@yahoo.com
AWESOME! My 8 yr old is home from school today and heard her singing on my laptop, ran over to me and asked what is that? I explained and her comment was,"mom i could never do that!" We were so impressed and please, please give a big shout out to your daughter from both of us in FL. YOU ROCK!!
I love the clapping along, She is one to watch for. What a great moment and I can see why you were so proud of her!!!! Way to go......
AWESOME! I guess you already know HOW PRECIOUS she is...and quite a TALENTED young woman, too!
Famous. She is going to be FAMOUS.
I'm as proud of her as if that were one of my girls up there. Can you hear me cheering all the way over on my very snowy side of our state????
Darn it! It's not up anymore and I want to see it!
She's amazing! Congratulations! What a big heart.
What a cutie pie - she did GREAT!
There was no stinking at all. She did a great job -- and nicely done in such a huge crowd, too.
HOORAY FOR HER!!!! I would have seriously CRIED if I was asked to do this at that age!
Oh, she was awesome! It took me far too long to sit down and watch this .. I loved it. You can tell her it was far from stinky .. keep it up, honey! You've got chops =-)
Did you cry? My mom always cries when I perform =-)
WOW! That took some guts and she did great! You should be so proud. I know you are proud.
What kind of irked me though was that when the crowd started clapping they were WAAAAAY off beat. I was worried they would throw her off, but she didn't skip a beat.
She's got a gift!
Oh, Debbie, I know you are so proud! She did great and looks so at ease on state, even moving with the music. Good job, girlie!
Ah, that's awesome!
Bless her heart, she was great! I can't imagine getting in front of so many people at 8! She has a beautiful voice, I'm sure you will spend many evenings in auditoriums watching her perform:-)
