rain rain go away

11 And I will establish My covenant with you: Neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth."

12 And God said, "This is the token of the covenant which I make between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
13 I do set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between Me and the earth.

Dallas is very dry in the summer...the grass is always brown...and they have lived through multiple summers of draught and water rationing...except for the week of June 26, 2007....they have had over 11 inches of rain this month, the wettest June in history and of course it had to be the week that we came to see my nephew play in a baseball tournament...we have been here since Monday and have yet to see him swing a bat...the games keep getting delayed because of torrential downpours...we did have a completely sunny Friday where we were able to get the kids out to a huge kid castle play ground, then out to lunch and then bowling before yet another black-sky-infamous-Dallas-thunderstorm that cancelled our Friday night game....needless to say, there has been lots of slap jack, crazy eights, monopoly, leapster, Webkinz.com, Tiger Woods Golf, Jenga, Nancy Drew movie (loved it), and whatever else you can do when you are trapped in the house...we are leaving on Tuesday morning and are hopeful that we may get in at least one game...through it all though, we were given a magnificent gift the other day...a COMPLETE rainbow...beginning to end...i could only get part of it in a picture, but it was the only complete rainbow i have ever seen in my life (and I lived in Hawaii for three years where rainbows are a daily occurrence)...it was spectacular...all I could think of was how merciful our God is...and what the covenant of the rainbow means...Our heavenly Father has promised He will never flood the earth again...and when He sets a rainbow in the sky, He is thinking about that promise he made to us many many years ago....How faithful He is indeed....
