I do. You do. My husband and I are glad she doesn't. Yet.
So a couple of days ago, we were talking about school, and I asked if this little boy had been talking to her lately.
She said "Yeah, today he told me he loved my cursive." Trying not to bust out laughing I asked her, "He told you he "loved" as in "l-o-v-e-d" your cursive?" LRRH replied, "Yup."
He...
LOVES...
her...
cursive....
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
So there you have it people...
Third grade pick up lines.
Brilliant.
Note to V: It wasn't the Big Bad Wolf. The boyz in the hood are like her brothers.
That was to cute! Thanks for sharing -- Much Love
ReplyDeleteAnissa
Very cute!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if he will still be using that line in 10 years...
Woah. Watch that one. He's smooth!
ReplyDeleteI'm wading through all my BATW day comments, and just had to stop by and say thanks. You guys are doing such an amazing thing. That was unreal!
My Sitemeter hates me now, but I could not care less!
Smooooth...
ReplyDeleteHow cute! This made me remember that a boy gave me six fake roses at daycare when we were in Kindergarten. What little players!
ReplyDeleteAwww young love what a splendid thing.
ReplyDeleteI almost had Diet Dr. Pepper shooting out my nose. Thought I'd share that with you.
So hilarious. I remember 3rd grade vividly. I had my first boyfriend then. You know, he wrote me a note and asked me to check yes or no if I would go with him. Then I checked yes and we never spoke again. Third grade is SO funny.
ReplyDeleteROFLOL!!! What a hoot! :)
ReplyDeleteIt takes me back to 5th grade. I sent one of those check yes or no notes to the 6th grader I had a crush on Jameison Smalley (I hope none of your readers is married to him!);) He returned the note with a "yes, if you give me your Trapper Keeper." The nerve. Maybe he's the reason I decided to pursue a law career, him and his clauses!
3rd grade is when I had my first crush. I didn't really understand it either, but nonetheless...as I read your hilarious post, I immediately flashed to "Petie P." in my mind... Too sweet. Petie P LOVED my drawing, not my cursive. That's a new one!
ReplyDeleteLOL .. that is so cute and so funny..
ReplyDeleteLong may that innocence continue !!
That is hysterical! Thanks for a good laugh!
ReplyDeleteHilarious! I am totally picturing my 3rd grade boy telling some girl he loves her cursive. I'm dying over here!
ReplyDeleteIt all starts with the handwriting.
ReplyDeleteThat is soooo funny. That kid has the biggest crush - Loves her cursive! HAHAHA!!! You gotta meet this kid! :)
ReplyDeleteI got my package today. I loved it. Thank you so very much. I will post about it soon.. : ) You did such a great job..
ReplyDeleteI noticed you have signed up for the Secret Santa as well.. I love Swaps. They are so fun..
Wow...
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought, "Hey baby, I love the way you tackle those monkey bars on the playground!" was suave.
"I love your cursive" wins. Hands down.
Oh wonderful, the love affairs begin! It's cute how they are at this age, I just dread the teenage years, yikes!
ReplyDeleteCan you just hear his internal conversation?
ReplyDeleteOh... there she is... should I hit her?? No.. oh... um.... I'll tell her I like her... shoes? No.... um... her.. hair? No... um... oh she's getting closer... Um... I love your backpack? Oh... no... um.. oh, she's almost to me um.. um...um...... um.... um....
"Little Red Riding Hood, I love your Cursive"
WHAT?? WHAT DID I JUST SAY??? I LOVE YOUR CURSIVE??? ARGH!!!!!!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEBBIE!!!!
ReplyDeleteHope it's wonderful, just like you!
That is great!!!! Oh I miss teaching and hearing those things! Wait - I don't miss the teaching, but I miss the kids!
ReplyDeleteNow THAT'S original!!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe he'll work in an office someday and will have the chance to use it on the receptionist whose name just happens to be Pam. I'm just saying.
HAHAHA!! Love it!! :)
ReplyDeleteAwwww...that is TOO cute!!
ReplyDeleteHee-hee! A boy in Mary Ashley's K4 class has a crush on her. His mom tells me they hear everything about her. She said, "I know her shirt had green polka dots on it last week." She is completely unaware of this, and when we look at all the class photos on the bulletin board, never remembers his name! I am not going to share his crush with her, but I'm trying to help her at least remember his name! Oh, young love, too sweet!
ReplyDeletelol! how cute :)
ReplyDeleteMust be true love, no fling loves 3rd grade cursive.
ReplyDeleteMy son told his "crush" (that he would not admit to me in a million years!)that she was the best burper ever! I'm tellin' you...8 year olds are just tooooo smooth!
ReplyDeleteI love that you don't tell her. My fourth grader has a boy for one of her two best friends and she gets teased all the time about being his girl friend. So I can see why you'd want to avoid that as long as humanly possible. But crushes at that age are very sweet.
ReplyDeleteA guy's gotta start somewhere.
ReplyDeleteMight as well be with penmanship.
Hilarious!
ReplyDeleteThat's adorable!
ReplyDeletefunny - that's the same line my husband used on me.
ReplyDeleteBefore you know it, they'll be sharing crayons! :D
ReplyDeleteFunny, Love to hear those! I am not sure "The Big Bad Wolf" would ever use that pick up line! At least I hope not
ReplyDeleteHysterical!
ReplyDeleteLoves her cursive. Smooth talker.
I love it. And I love Lizzy's comment about the internal dialog. I wonder if he is hating himself for saying that! And I really love that she doesn't get it. Both of my girls are clueless about the antics of the boys that "love" them. And they have quite a following!
ReplyDeleteI"m sure in high school it will be "I love your blog :)".
ReplyDeleteWhat's he going to say next? He'll probably break into song...
ReplyDelete"Heaven...must be missin' an angel..."
Geez.
I never write in cursive - that way I will avoid cheesy pickup lines by 3rd graders.
Oh that is precious! You've absolutely got to capture that somewhere so that she can experience this memory someday when she, too, understands.
ReplyDeleteOh how cute!!! That is too sweet!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Happy, Happy Birthday
ReplyDeleteThat's actually an awesome pick-up line!! I'm impressed. My 11 yr old will NOT talk to the girl he likes. And my 6 yr old is so NOT into girls yet...but I think they chase him.
ReplyDeleteBTW, Happy Birthday!! A little hot tub gal told me...
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you!! It is just the week for bloggy birthdays. Eat lots of cake!
ReplyDeleteOh how cute! He's likes her and can't figure out what to do, and he's trying to come up with something nice to say. He did pretty well, actually! (i've had worse lines... we all have)
ReplyDeleteHave a really great birthday!! So glad we crashed at your place for once. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday To You! Happy birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear Debbie!!!!! Happy Birthday to you!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Pooh Bear - I have a present for you at my blog!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's so sweet!! In a few years she can look back on that as probably the *best* pickup line she'll ever hear. *sigh* :) :)
ReplyDeletethat was so funny!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great story. You gotta love those lines. They would have worked with me when I was 8. Just found your blog.
