Then, I'm going to do state by state party post linking all the bloggers from a particular state.
I'll make dinner and serve wine or whatever, while you talk amongst yourselves and your homey's. Wanna play? Oh come on, pretty please. And, yeah, that means all you lurkers, ya gotta play along, too!
I'll go first!
Your comments so far are cracking me up. No, there won't be a bathing suit competition, but there might be a pie eating contest. In our gowns. And high heels. Go get your Spanx now.
Okay we need the following contestants:
Ms. Connecticut,
Ms. New Hampshire,
Ms. Vermont (never seen this one)
Ms. Maine (saw this one this morning. Why didn't you take your crown?)
Ms. Wyoming (might be tough)
Ms. Montana (must not have computers there)
Ms. Massachusetts (I have seen you a couple of times)
Ms. Delaware (hmmm?)
Ms. West Virginia (ooooh, I don't think I've ever seen WVA)
Ms. New Mexico ( Oh I saw you on Friday!!! Claim your crown!)
Ms. New Hampshire (Didn't you drop by in the last two weeks or so?)

Virginia
ReplyDeleteAlright, count me in :-)
ReplyDeleteIllinois!
Right next door in North Carolina!
ReplyDelete(I TOTALLY feel like a Miss America contestant right now)
The great state of Texas!!
ReplyDeleteiowa!
ReplyDeleteRepresenting California.
ReplyDeleteI'm here from Louisiana (but not for much longer... :D(And by that I mean I'm moving. Not that I hate your blog and never want to visit again.))
ReplyDeleteWashington, not DC. :)
ReplyDeleteColorado in the House!
ReplyDeleteOf course it's Virginia--we are BFFs, you know.
ReplyDeleteBut can I claim Georgia, too? Wait...I'll leave that to Kat. I'm still claiming it in my heart, at least.
Near Pittsburgh, PA. If this were Miss America I would never make it to the top 20. PA is always in the bottom ranks! We must have ugly pagent girls or something...
ReplyDeleteThanks Lula for letting me claim Georgia. Even though you lust for Georgia in your heart...I am here now :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea, Debbie! (And continued thanks for one of your other ideas...that morphed into my weekly Friday Follies...)
New Jersey! - (SIL) Christine
ReplyDelete2nd runner up ... from Virginia
ReplyDeleteFun idea, i was beaten to the punch for CA...but just had to say this was a neat idea for a post!
ReplyDeleteJust another CAlifornia Girl...
ReplyDeleteIndiana! Formerly of Virginia and Maryland and Pennsylvania. ;) Oh, and I lived in Berlin for 3 years too, does that count?
ReplyDeleteVirginia! And it is actually where I have lived my ENTIRE life. Just different parts of it.
ReplyDeleteMelissa McKenzie ... Miss Wisconsin!
ReplyDeleteEr, wait. Miss Georgia!
I'm not sure which one to claim. How about Miss Limbo? No, I better go with Wisconsin since that's still what my driver's license says.
I'm in Illinois
ReplyDeleteMs. Louisiana here!
ReplyDeleteI love your ideas! :0)
Another Texan!
ReplyDeleteHi, my name is Caroline (not Carolyn) and I'm Miss North Carolina. I like kittens, puppies, making cupcakes with pink frosting, and I dot all my "i's" with little hearts.
ReplyDeleteMy platform is world peace!
I was your Hawaii...I didn't stop reading, we just moved! Now I live in Michigan! ~Daisy
ReplyDeleteColorado here too but I'm close enough to Wyoming that if you don't get one of those, you can count me. It's just 30 minutes to the state border!
ReplyDeleteI'm the first one from Mississippi! I feel so honored! But please, PLEASE don't have a swimsuit competition! : )
ReplyDeleteUtah, Baby!
ReplyDeleteSome Music City love heading your way from Tennessee
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun
ReplyDeleteBorn & Raised Cajun /Coonass
Louisiana
Idaho here--and I brought my potatoes :)! If you don't happen to get an Oregon, I use to live there and still go at least once a month. Guess I could claim dual-stateship.
ReplyDelete(waving cheesily as my evening gown drags behind me and I exit the stage....)
Washington (not DC)
ReplyDeleteVancouver (not canada)
But I can drive 10 minutes south pick up a wireless signal and come to you live from Oregon.
Do I really have to put on that evening gown, those shoes and all that makeup? I am totally a tomboy. (yes, still at the age of 35).
Can we just skip to the talent competition cuz I can juggle a soccer ball with my feet like nobody's business
California here
ReplyDeleteTally another Colorado..
ReplyDeleteHello.. My name is Susie Harris... Im from the bayou state... Louisiana ! Oh I want to play... this sounds like so much fun so count me in!
ReplyDeleteI'm from Kentucky!
ReplyDeleteTechnically, Kentucky is not a state; it's a Commonwealth!
Count me in!
Hi yal! I'm Mrs. Virginia and I mean the REAL Virginia, not all the areas east of Winchester and north of Fredericksburg...that's just extended suburbs of Washington, yes DC.
ReplyDeleteI live in those parts now a days but I'm a Virginia native through and through. And we live in THE best state in the BEST country in the world! We claim more VA born Presidents than any other state, we have the BEAUTIFUL Blue Ridge Mountains, and the oldest River in the Northern Hemisphere, oddily enough it's called the New River! We have beaches and bays and more History then a teacher can cover in a year! And one of my favorites... we have four REAL seasons! We get snow in winter, we have 6-8 weeks of Spring flowers, Summers that will curl your hair with the humidty and fall leaves that will knock your socks off!
Can I just say I am a fan?!?! Somebody at the Tourism Bureau should be paying me! LOL
Oh and my platform for this beauty contest is Whirled Peas.
Yal come back and see us, k? I'll bring the sweet tea with fresh mint sprigs!
Jennifer
Illinois!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnother TN girl here!
ReplyDeleteHey, I'm the first here from Missouri!!!!
ReplyDeleteDoes that mean its just you and me for dinner on the MO night, Debbie?
Since CaroLINE has gotten all uppity and taken over Miss North Carolina, I'll be happy to take on Miss Minnesota... since I spent... 31 years there and have been in NC for 4 months....
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen anyone from AZ yet! Phoenix rocks just not in the summer ~ yikes its over 100 right now.
ReplyDeleteAhem...feeling a little left out here in the north...CANADA...not a state (apparently some U.S.ers believe we are...groan!)
ReplyDeleteBut I was born in New York, NY. Does that count? That would make me the first one...so it may help your cause by default.
Karin ... Missouri
ReplyDelete(although I am runner-up to z's mom. I think we need a recount. I have talents. Many talents. I always brush and floss [well, not actually]. I attended an Ivy League school [OK, the 'Ivy League of the Midwest' --- Z's mom will probably know where I'm talking about, but no one else will]. I hope one day we can save the whales and the world from global warming and I believe in burning corn cobs for heat and using CFL bulbs and...and...
And Tropical Polar Bears!
ReplyDelete(I gotta win on that one)
*wink*
~kJ
FLORIDA is here! sorry I've been at Busch Gardens all day!
ReplyDeleteLooks like I am second runner up from UTAH. Always the bridesmaid never the bride.
ReplyDeleteNEW YORK!!!! (Upstate, NOT the city..... In fact, I've lived most of my life here and I've never been to the City... I should fix that!!....)
ReplyDeleteYet another contestant from Illinois. I brushed up on my interview questions for you, too.
ReplyDeleteWell, I have nothing new to add here, except perhaps talent;) I live in Washington State . . . probably very near Trish, just northwest of Vancouver. But I grew up in Idaho, near Jennifer P. and then lived ten years in Utah.
ReplyDeleteNorth Dakota gal here.
ReplyDeleteIdaho, again. Sheesh, I think I'm your 50th commentor. You'd think you would have representation from all 50 states, eh? This is fun to see where everyone comes from.
ReplyDeleteCount me in Debbie! I'm from Sweet Home Alabama. I'm even cuter than Reese Witherspoon. Ok, well, not really, but I did have my hair cut like hers once. That count??
ReplyDeleteI'm also a little short for a pageant dress and I'd kill myself in heels. Would cute jeans and a tee be ok, I mean I AM from Alabama.
-- Brandi
California... I called out Nebraska on my blog a few weeks ago and someone showed! Now Montanna.. good luck.
ReplyDeleteOH - IO ! :)
ReplyDeleteWashington State. The Left Coast. About 208 miles north of Tricia. Too far away if you ask me.
ReplyDeleteI think I am Number 4 for Washington State.
Count Gina also. She is out camping in the rain and cannot get to a computer. She would be Washington also. About 15 miles northwest of me.

ReplyDeleteWhen I met Debbie I was living in MD, does that count for the tally?
ReplyDeleteThe Man
Oh Debbie, I'm so excited! I've always wanted to be "Miss Oregon." This is such an honor. Fact: The first Miss America was 5'2 and weighed something like 112 pounds, kinda around my size. Can you imagine someone that short making it now in this time? Uuuuh uuuuh, no way. So, since I could never in real life enter the Miss Oregon padgent due to my short stature, I am totally thrilled for this opportunity to represent my state. I will not let them down. Thank you for asking me. This is fun. I'll take Chardonnay; thanks for offering wine. this is a celebration. Kathi
ReplyDeleteOh, sorry rjn.....I am currently living in Maryland, and I think that's in the official pageant rules. I think that makes me Ms. Maryland 2008.
ReplyDeleteWe're neighbors Debbie! (Well, state neighbors anyway.)
TEXAS!
ReplyDeleteI am new but would love to join in! Florida!
ReplyDeletedoes it count if i was born in another country? i'll take Mrs. Argentina if thats the case...
ReplyDeleteI am not in a State...but since Canada was accepted... you know I am a loyal friend and reader from Hungary.... (Budapest)
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I am a Minnesootan! Can I accept the crown? Please Please pretty please!! Hope to see you soon..
ReplyDeleteMississippi representing (although I show up in any feeder as TN due to my work computer routing through Memphis).
ReplyDeleteMISTER! Oregon here. And yes, you can count me out on the bathing suit competition - wouldn't want to scar anybody for life.
ReplyDeletehttp://organizeddoodles.blogspot.com/
I'm your Ms. Nebraska...
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm a LURKER! I don't have a blog, I want one, but don't think I am creative enough! (Especially after reading yours!) I'll try to comment... thanks for all your great posts!
What a fun idea! I'm from Idaho.
ReplyDeleteAnother gal who lives in NC...but I used to live in Alaska...does that count? LOL.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, you are so original!
ReplyDeleteBut, rats! I thought I had Ms. Minnesota all sewn up, but Lizzie and Veronica piped in at the last minute! That's ok though, cuz I just can't do the strapless gown thing. I'll be glad to party with you!
And Caroline has my vote for Ms. Congeniality--she is TOO CUTE!
Minnesota represented!:) Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteLisa
Carolina! North Carolina Tar Heels that is! ;)
ReplyDeleteCan I be MR. Texas...after all I am related to you! I'll even cook something on the grill for the party. How long will the party last???? Is there enough time....
ReplyDeleteBarry
Alabama here.
ReplyDeleteHi ya'll
Another Kentucky blogger!
ReplyDeleteBUT I'm originally from the town that hosts the Miss Missouri Pageant. So...if you decided to do the pageant and need some double-stick boobie or behind tape, just holla! Gotcha' covered!
(And no, I wasn't a pageant girl, we just used it for dance competitions.)
Debbie, you have the most fun ideas! You're my #1 fave!
I'm in a Colorado and we're having a heat wave here.
ReplyDeleteNew York (The city)..
ReplyDeleteYou'll never get Montana. It took me SIX months to get a visitor dot on my map from there---and then it was my old college roomie reading while on a visit to her parent's house (then went back home to UT). I seriously had dots from every civilized nation and some not so civilized before Montana finally surfaced. They're like a rare albino buffalo or something!
ReplyDeleteoh yeah---sending Okalhoma your way right now. She's one of my readers!
ReplyDeleteAnother one from Louisiana
ReplyDeleteAdd another one from Kentucky. Although I grew up in Indiana...
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool that you have family here. You should visit more often ~ in the winter of course!
ReplyDeleteI know Alaska, I invited her to the party.
ReplyDeleteI know Hawaii too, but she's vacationing in PA (I know, weird), and I don't know if she's blogging...
I don't think I know Montana. Sorry. :(
Mrs. Oklahoma is right here!!! Can you see me with my "twist the lightbulb--touch the pearls" wave??? Jennifer P. sent me your way....I'm hoping there is a crown involved some how!!!!! Gotta go...gotta warm up those batons! This is gonna be sooo much fun...can't wait!
ReplyDeleteIdaho for 13 years now, my first 23 were spent in Oregon. Love them both despite their vast differences! I love stopping by your blog too, but don't usually comment since I don't have a blog to direct anyone to.
ReplyDeleteI'm not really the pageant type. I'd rather be out camping, playing softball or volleyball, anything where make-up is optional. I could be talked into the pie eating... ; )
Michigan is in the house.
ReplyDeleteNevada!!! That's pronounced Ne-va-duh (a as in cat) :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd I gracefully accept the crown for both Nevada and New Zealand !!!
Do you want me to bring along a pavlova for dessert ??
I've got a nice NZ chardonnay in the fridge as well...
Aloha from Sunny Honolulu, Hawaii..
ReplyDeleteOoh! Ooh! I lived in SD for 5 years! Can I be SD since you already have a FL. My firstborn child was conceived and born East River (Missouri River). That's a South Dakotan term. Hot Tub Lizzy would probably be familiar since she spent a lengthy amount of her life in MN...BTW, Lizzy, love your mall with no sales tax! Fabulous.
ReplyDeleteHoly Buckets and dontcha know! Can you detect my midwestern accent? I'm really trying here, Deb. Let me know!
Tracy P nominated me for Miss Congeniality? WOW, I graciously accept! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm still from NC - just so you know.
World Peace.
I know you already have a Texas, but I'm in Texas, the Dallas area.

ReplyDeleteMy husband is from West Virginia ... and I've been there more times than I can count to visit my lovely mother-in-law. Can that count?
